Our Interim Council and Committee meetings will take place as usual during the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress in Chicago Illinois. For a complete schedule of these meetings, please click here. A great deal of work goes into these meetings, during which the Membership Committee determines which of the applicants will be granted membership at the next annual meeting; the Scholarship Committee determines which of their applicants will receive our Foundation educational grants; and the Council reviews its works in progress. For more information on any of these meetings, feel free to contact the SUS office at any time (contact information in borderline below).
The 5th Annual Academic Surgical Congress will take place in 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. Begun in 2006 as a joint meeting between the Society of University Surgeons and the Association for Academic Surgery, this meeting continues to grow as the premier meeting for surgical research in the United States. We are looking forward to an outstanding attendance once again and we hope that you will be a part of this meeting. Registration will open in mid-October, but other conference information is currently available at www.academicsurgicalcongress.org
The Society of University Surgeons Foundation continues its extraordinary work of saving academic surgery, through educational grants, promoting the level of awareness about the work of academic surgery, and involving surgeons and the public in this effort. For more information on their work and how you can be an important part of it, please visit our foundation page by clicking here.
